Ashford Assistant Police Chief Clint Williams is on administrative leave from the police department after he was arrested yesterday, accused of asking a girl for sexual acts.
The Houston County Sheriff’s Office says it is investigating a complaint that Williams solicited a girl under the age of 18 for the purpose of sexual acts for pay.
Back in 2007, Williams pleaded guilty to a charge of harassing communications in Henry County and was sentenced to two years probation. Court documents show Williams was originally charged with enticing a child under the age of 16 for immoral purposes.
38-year-old, Williams posted $9,000 bail yesterday in Houston County on misdemeanor charges of prohibited activities and 2nd degree conspiracy to possess marijuana.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza told media the alleged crime involved social media, and Williams could face more charges.
Ashford Police Chief Quinton Vann says Williams has been with the police department about two years and is on administrative leave with pay.
