More than 700 children are benefiting from participating in the Summer Meal Program offered through Dothan Leisure Services.
The city department received a reimbursement grant through the Alabama Food Nutrition Program, which allows the department to provide good, healthy meals for children in the Dothan area.

“At this time we are feeding approximately 750 children two meals a day,” said Dothan Leisure Service Program Coordinator Stephanie Wingfield. “Children participating in our summer feeding program are receiving both breakfast and lunch. For many of the children these are the only meals they receive. If it was not for this program many would not have a meal to eat all day long.”
Several locations have been set up that participate in the Dothan Leisure Service Summer Food Program. They are:

» Wiregrass Boys and Girls Club

» Hawk Houston Boys and Girls Club

» Walton Park Recreation Center

» Wiregrass Park Recreation Center
